Tadese Faforiji

I welcome you to my internet archives. I am Tadese Faforiji, a Nigerian historian and digital enthusiast. I am a man of many capabilities and interests, and for this reason, I have decided to build separate platforms and media for my respective interests. When I am not writing history, I am exploring places, documenting my experiences, or solving digital problems.

My Area of Interest

I am interested in African history, and particularly Nigerian history.

About 6 years ago, I built a website focused on Nigerian history. I read and wrote on the pre-history of Nigeria using a self-made table and drawings which were deduced from Thurstan Shaw’s publication; made a comparative analysis of the state creation in Hausaland and Yorubaland; wrote about the pawnship system and manumission of slaves among the Yoruba, as well as African agency in the slave trade, among others. I am passionate about Nigerian history with its unique stories from the earliest time to the present.

Unfortunately, after four years of managing the website and covering a series of articles and stories on Nigerian history, I was forced to change the website’s niche because Nigeria is not a marketing priority for advertisers on AdSense, an affiliate advertising network. It was a tough decision for me to make; I kept adding new categories on my newfound niche and trying to add Nigerian content to a non-index category. I just wanted to see my work and discussions about our beautiful history.

While Tadexprof now primarily focuses on travel and tourism, I created this platform to serve as a host for my research and publications on Nigerian history. Here you will find my published articles, ongoing research, conferences and other discussions on scholarship.

In the future, I will attempt a full migration of this platform to a larger custom website, where I can add new users and allow forum discussions on Nigerian history.
